PARENTS COMMITTEE
The St. Aidan’s Day School Parents Committee functions like a PTA, and all parents are considered to be members. The Parents Committee has three primary purposes. First, it sponsors family-oriented activities to build a sense of community. These include an Oktoberfest celebration, Cookies with Santa, Family Fun Night in the winter, and the Artwalk in the spring. The Parents Committee also organizes community outreach activities. In the past years we have collected books and stuffed animals for children in shelters, helped a refugee family, and even sponsored a litter of foster puppies. We want our children to learn about helping others. Finally, the Parents Committee fundraises during the year to provide financial support to the school. In past years, the Parents Committee has donated picnic table, sand and mulch for the playground, and school and classroom supplies.
All families are encouraged to get involved in the Parents Committee as a way to meet other parents and support the school. It is not necessary to attend the monthly meetings to get involved with the Parents Committee. We are thankful for support whether it be volunteering as a chairperson, volunteering a little time to help out at one of our events or even just providing feedback and new ideas on how to best support the school.
